Old postcard photograph of the Shables Oak or Butchers Oak in Brklands Sherwood Forest. The Forest at this time far from being continuos Oak trees was infact a highly manicured park with arboretum tree planting amongst the oaks. The planting can still be found but the old shambles oak finally blew over in the 1960's.

This is a photograph of the Russian Log Hut brought by the Duke to Birklands Sherwood Forest to provide accommodation for guests during the days shooting.
